Last Day In Billinge

Thursday 15th July 2010

We had a slow start to the morning (yes - it is unusual for us) and had breakfast in a coffee shop in Billinge.

We then realised that we had not fulfilled the goal of visiting Heywood, So as it was only a relatively short drive away we toddled off to see it.
There are no photos of Heywood, as nit was the single most UNnotable town we have visited on the entire trip.

We had a date with Ray's Auntie June and Uncle Brian as they were taking us to visit Auntie Dorothy.

We had a cuppa and a piece of Ray's birthday cake before we got a "grand tour" of Uncle Brian's garden. He grows pretty much all vegetables, as he says "if you can't eat it he won't grow it".

Afterwards we set off to visit Auntie Dorothy. I was regaled with family stories on the drive and by the time we got there I felt comfortable lighting a cigarette, as I think Auntie Dorothy would have appreciated me having one with her. Ray did too!

Later on we went out for dinner (Tea) with Auntie June, Uncle Brian and Ray's cousin Pauline. Pauline was 4 when Ray left England, and he has only seen her once since, when she was in Australia.
After tea we went back to Auntie June and Uncle Brian's place and Ray met his cousin Colin, his wife Sue and their children who he has never met before.

As we needed to leave Billinge early (even for us) the next morning we headed back to The Stork. Here I am at the bar - that's John the landlord you can see to my left.

Search the picture below and find the little friend from Australia that Ray left behind in his birthplace, Billinge. (you'll have to blow the photo up).
